Together We Can Elevate Our Community One Neighbor At A Time!
Sierra Community House is the primary crisis response agency in our region and we continue providing the stabilizing support individuals and families need during these times of uncertainty. In September, we were recognized by community leaders and our peers as a finalist for the Truckee Chamber Resiliene Award for providing creative solutions to meet our community's needs during COVID-19.
During the height of the pandemic, community members were accessing our services at unprecedented levels. Since March 2020, we have provided over $700,000 in rental and utility assistance, distributed 538,454 meals, provided 611 families and individuals with legal support, and answered 1,603 calls to our Helpline from community members needing access to crisis support and mental health services.
impacts of COVID-19 on Truckee-North Tahoe are far-reaching and
significant, leaving many community members facing eviction, hunger,
depression, isolation and other challenges.
Today, Sierra Community House serves 44% more community members than we did prior to COVID-19.
Together, we can help keep food on the table, provide warm shelter, and keep our friends and neighbors safe and healthy.
Your generous gift will provide support and relief to those persons impacted by the ongoing health emergency. In the unlikely event donations exceed expenses for this specific situation, contributions will be used for Sierra Community House's entire mission. We use your gifts where they can do the most good by pooling them with gifts of others to help connect and empower our North Lake Tahoe/Truckee community through family strengthening, crisis intervention, hunger relief and legal services.
