North Tahoe Family Resource Center is now Sierra Community House
Strengthening our community, one family at a time.
In a place as beautiful as Lake Tahoe, it can be hard to imagine that there are families in our community living in crisis and instability. But these words define the reality for more than 30% of the children living in Kings Beach, who live with the constant uncertainty of poverty. For a local child and their Mom or Dad, that means getting by on an annual income of $15,800 or less each year.
We understand the challenges and uncertainties that families living in poverty face and we are driven to provide the resources, education and support families need to move out of the day to day challenges of "just getting by" to a place where they THRIVE!
We are thrilled to announce that on July 1, 2019, four long-standing service organizations — the Family Resource Center of Truckee, North Tahoe Family Resource Center, Tahoe SAFE Alliance, and Project MANA — united to form the Sierra Community House.
Our goal is to better serve our region, share resources, and connect individuals and families with the services they need to thrive.
