Help Community Members In Crisis

Sierra Community House is the primary emergency response agency in our region and we continue providing the stabilizing support individuals and families need during these times of uncertainty. We recently were recognized by community leaders and our peers as a Truckee Chamber Hometown Hero for our safety net services.

Families who have lost jobs or reduced wages are struggling to keep their children healthy and stable. Parents who are working from home are finding new challenges in meeting the needs of their children, which is posing threats to their well-being and development. Family violence is increasing due to stress, anxiety and uncertainty. The number of families who are facing food insecurity is forcing many to choose between putting food on the table or making rent.

As the economic fallout of the pandemic continues to be felt, we are starting to see community members accessing more of our services. If we are to continue serving more people and providing more services we need the support of donors like you. Your gift will greatly impact our friends and neighbors in need.

Your generous gift will provide support and relief to those persons impacted by the ongoing health emergency. In the unlikely event donations exceed expenses for this specific situation, contributions will be used for Sierra Community House's entire mission. We use your gifts where they can do the most good by pooling them with gifts of others to help connect and empower our North Lake Tahoe/Truckee community through family strengthening, crisis intervention, hunger relief and legal services.
