TAHOE CHOCOLATE & WINE FESTIVAL 2021 IS CANCELED.

The return to recovery and normalcy that we have all hoped and planned for seems to be out of reach. After months of planning and execution on a reimagined event, which carefully took into account state and local guidelines on COVID, we are now presented with the unhealthy smoke effects of nearby fires. Therefore, we have decided to cancel the Tahoe Chocolate & Wine Festival scheduled for September 10th. For those that have already purchased a table or tickets, please be on the lookout for a personal email with options.

Sierra Community House is deeply saddened to not celebrate in-person with you in our Gratitude Garden. But we hold steadfast in our mission and values, to ensure the safety and health of the North Lake Tahoe-Truckee region. Our hearts and prayers go out to the families and individuals who are affected and displaced by the fires.

It seems that we continue to live in unprecedented times, and it is with full transparency that we are sharing this with you. It is because of the unhealthy air quality combined with the uptick in breakthrough COVID-19 cases and the Delta Variant that we cannot hold a safe event centered on gratitude and community.

We are grateful to all of you for your continued support of Sierra Community House and its mission: to our generous sponsors, the attendees – many who look forward to this event every year, our fabulous Chocolatiers who embraced the opportunity to support this event after a financially tough year, and to our wineries – many who would be participating for the first time. We would also like to give special recognition to Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe for being so supportive of this decision. It speaks highly to its regard of community.

We've gotten this far thanks to the support of so many. Thank you!

We invite you to stay connected with us on Social and through our e-newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hrGDuf.

With gratitude,

Paul Bancroft, MA
